Evangelist Dolores E. Gray Smith age 63, who resided in Gary, WV, peacefully departed this life on Friday, June 16, 2017 at St. Mary's (Cornerstone Facility) Hospital in Huntington.  She was born May 3, 1954 in Norton, VA, and one of eight children born to the late Bishop Richard L. Gray Sr. and Nola D. (Hill) Gray.  She grew up in Premier, was a 1972 graduate of Welch High School and received her certified nursing assistant training at the McDowell County Voc-Tech Center in Welch.  She was employed at McDowell Continuous Care Center in Gary and provided  private care for several families. Also, a former employee at Welch Community Hospital and the Sterling Drive-In.  At an early age, she gave her life to the Lord and joined the Premier Revival Center under the pastoral ship of her father, Bishop Gray. She met and married the "love of her life," for well over 43 years, James Smith and for many years, made their home in Pageton.  After the Revival Center closed, she joined Abundant Life Ministries in Maybeury and for the past several years, was a member of Miracle Mt. Carmel Church in Kimball.  Her life consisted of serving God, being a loving wife and mother, grandmother, sister. aunt and a loyal friend.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Jr.

She will be greatly missed by her husband, James Sr.,  their children:  James (Monica) Jr., Vanesha (Paul) Smith-Witt and Tanjaneika Smith and fiancé, Corey Taylor Sr., 12 grandchildren; her siblings:  Joey (Carolyn), Theresa, Cathy and Nola Gray, Faye Anthony and, Janice (Purcell Sr.) Jones; several aunts and uncles; many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Her Home going Celebration will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Miracle Mt. Carmel Church in Kimball, with Elder Anthony Blair officiating.  Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, on Courthouse Road in Princeton.  Serving as pallbearers will be her son and nephews.. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., until time of Service.  .
