Mrs. Corrine Parr Floyd age 90, of Charleston, West Virginia; formerly of Welch, West Virginia, peacefully departed this life on Monday, March 4, 2024 at the Hubbard House in Charleston. Corrine was born in Carlisle, West Virginia on November 27, 1933. She spent her best years in Welch and relocated to Charleston after the passing of her husband, James in July 11, 2001. Corrine graduated from Kimball High School in 1951 with high honors. She was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend and most of all a Child of God. "When God created her, it was the example of AWESOMENESS, so this world could see the true meaning of Beauty." She had many friends far and near. Her presence will never be replaced and the difference she made, even in her sickness was fought like a Soldier. She stood strong and fought a good fight and finished and won the race. Corrine was preceded in death by her husband and the stepfather of her children, James W, Floyd; her mother, Claudia L. Parr and her father, Mack Span Sr., and her stepfather, Eugene Parr; grandparents, Lelar and Willie Nelms; six sisters: Mary Rose, Rosa Span, Lula Mitchell, Fannie Edmonds, Eugenia Burroughs and Marilyn Harris and one brother, Jason Parr. She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories, her four children: Gloria Bush (Michael) of Charleston, Robert E. Wright Jr., of Flemington, New Jersey, Lethia A. Martin of Charleston and Roy Cardwell of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Marc Parr of Bluefield, West Virginia and Mack Span Jr., of New York; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; all of her nieces, nephews, and friends whom she loved dearly. The words that she shared with her niece, Rosetta "Punkin" Span, "remember the good times, we shall always remember the good times." A Committal Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Restlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, 6605 New Hope Road in Bluewell, West Virginia with her niece, Pastor Dr. Janis Boone officiating.
