James E. Easley Jr.

James Edward Easley Jr., aka "Mr. Charlie," age 79 of Northfork, West Virginia, peacefully departed this life on Friday, March 1, 2024 in the comforts of his home, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born into the loving parentage of James E. Sr., and Evelyna Manns Easley in Welch, West Virginia on the 22nd day of Decemeber. 1944.  After graduating from Kimball High School, he had lived and worked in New York for a number of years.  He retired after being employed as an assembly line worker for Ford Motor Company in New Jersey.  In 2009, he returned to West Virginia where he had resided in Keystone, West Virginia and later moved to Northfork.  James was a member of the (former) Gospel Tabernacle Church in Keystone.  After it closed, he joined New Vision United Holiness Church in Northfork,  where he faithfully served as an Usher.  Daily he talked to ("the Man,") the Lord and on warmer days enjoyed his time outside.  He enjoyed cooking and both shopping and dressing.  His pastimes were spent watching the westerns on television and listening to music; especially gospel.  He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Golden State Warriors.  James was known as one who never met a stranger and was always concerned about his family and friends.  In addition to his parents, James E. Easley Sr., and Evelyna Easley Wilkins, he was preceded in death by his sister, Constance Easley and brothers, Eugene Easley, Elvin Wilkins and Vincent Wilkins.  James will be lovingly remembered by one son, Jerome Johnson of New York and his devoted sisters:  Denise Beverly of Frankfort, Ohio, Deborah Wilkins of Detroit, Michigan, Donna Wilkins and Renee Wilkins both of Keystone; his long time companion, Baie Banks of the home; his great-niece, Lakayla Wilkins, his "Beetle Bug," and three generations of nephews and nieces; other relatives; his Church family and friends.  A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. James E. Easley Jr., will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, March 8, 2024 at New Vision United Holiness Church in Northfork with Pastor Tyrone Carper eulogist, Pastor Dorian Cox presiding, Apostle Marquinta Cox and Minister Troy Jenkins assisting.  Entombment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 6605 New Hope Road in Bluewell, West Virginia. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM.  Services entrusted to Gregory-Page Funeral Home in Welch, West Virginia.
