Nathaniel Jackson Obituary

"Verily to the Most High we belong and verily to Him we shall return."  Nathaniel Jackson, a beacon of love and light transitioned from this world on January 13, 2024 in Bluefeld, West Virginia.  He left behind a legacy of love that will forever echo in the hearts of those his life touched.  He was born September 27, 1969, in Richlands, Virginia to Nathaniel Tartt and Ronnie Marie Jackson Tartt.

Affectionately known as Man, he received his formal education in the Mercer County School System.  Upon completing High School,  Nathaniel proudly served seven years in the US Navy as a Dental Technician.  As a civilian, he was employed by the Virginia Housing Authority Maintenance Department. His life was deeply rooted in his spirituality, reading his Bible and living his life to the glory of the Most High. Most importantly, he shared his Faith with others.  He was an all-around athlete and enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Boxing on television.  Whether making someone laugh or going for a walk, Nathaniel's life was well lived. His laughter was a melody that resonated in the hearts of all, and the warmth of his humble spirit embraced everyone fortunate enough to cross his path. As we bid farewell to a devoted husband, a dutiful son, a loving father and big brother, let us celebrate a remarkable man whose light will forever shine in our hearts. Nathaniel’s life would seem too short to many, but those who love him understand that the quality of his existence, far exceeds the quantity of time in which he lived. Preceded in death by grandparents:  Hollis and Marie Johnson, Joe and Alberta Jackson, Earnestine Tartt and Mervin Walker.  His memory and love will live on through his wife, Shaurntane Polk- Jackson; his parents, Nathaniel and Ronnie Marie Tartt; two daughters, Jemilah Jackson and Audia Jackson, two sons, Nathaniel T. Jackson and Malachi Jackson; one granddaughter, Blessence; two stepdaughters, Isis Miller and Isha Miller; one brother, Jason B. Tartt Sr., and one sister, Tamika N. Tartt-Williams. A special uncle, LeRoy Johnson and a special aunt, Joyce Ann Dykes; seven nieces and nephews: Brandon Tartt, A’Shanti Tartt, Audrey Oakes, Chantay Tartt, Isaiah Oakes, Jason Tartt Jr., and James A Pugh III., three great nieces and two great nephews.  A special friend, Gladys Barron and a host of extended family and friends. Services entrusted to Gregory-Page Funeral Home in Welch, West Virginia.

Isaiah 43: 1-3 ‘ Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.’
