John "David" Stigger age 79 of Newark, OH; formerly of Jenkinjones, WV, who departed this life on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at his residence.  He was born November 6, 1937 in Jenkinjones and the son of the late John Robert and the Elder Rosa Lee (Saunders) Stigger.  He was a graduate of Gary District High School and was baptized at an early age.  During his years of employment, he had worked for the Library of Congress, and retired after being employed  for many years at the Owens-Corning Plant.  He referred to himself as being a "man of faith,"  and enjoyed reading his Bible.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three of his brothers:  Orlander, Robert and Philip Stigger Sr., also a sister-in-law, Regina Stigger and two nephews, Keith Stigger and Philip Stigger Jr.

David will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Renee (Grady) Smith and Fatima Stigger; his devoted siblings, Joseph (Luleen) Stigger and Ernestine Stigger; two grandchildren, Simone and Elisha Smith; a host of nephews and nieces; which includes a special niece, Regina (Samuel) Madden; his former wife, Mary Joe Adams; several other relatives and friends.  A Homegoing Celebration Servicve will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Restlawn Mausoleum Chapel on Rt. 20, Littlesburg Road (6605 New Hope Road, Bluefield, WV) Bluewell, WV, where Interment will follow. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., until time of Service.
