Ms. Mary Lee Foster age 83, a life long resident of Gary, WV, who passed away on Friday, June 9, 2017 in Charleston Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness.  She was born October 11, 1933 in Gary and the daughter of the late Quill and Maxie (Poe) Foster.  She was a 1952 graduate of Gary District High School.  She was a long time, faithful member of Apostolic Temple Church in Gary, where she served as treasurer.  In earlier years, she was employed as a child care provider and house keeper for several families of the bosses  at U.S. Steel Coal Mines in Gary.  She enjoyed attending Church, telephone shopping and riding the city transit. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and William Foster.  She will be remembered for her compassionate, caring spirit and her love for others; especially children.  She leaves many cherished memories to her only son, Frederick L. Foster of Matthews, NC and her two sisters, Shirley (Devon) Robinson and Delores (Eddie) Southard both of Chicago, IL; several nephews, nieces; other relatives, her Church family and many dear friends. Her Homegoing Celebration Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at New Bethel Church in Gary, with the Elder Kenneth Brown and Minister Alfonso Dalton officiating.  Interment will follow in Rest lawn Memorial Gardens on Rt. 20, Littlesburg Road in Bluewell, WV.  Relatives and friends will serve as both pall bearers and flower bearers.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., until time of Service. .
