Mikhael O. Williams Sr., of Havaco, WV, who departed this life on Monday, at Welch Community Hospital. He was born in Anawalt, WV and the son of the late Paul J. and Susie (Clark) Williams. He was a 1971 graduate of Gary High School, where he was an outstanding athlete. In earlier years, he joined Mt. Bethel United Holy Church in Anawalt, after moving to Havaco, he attended Havaco Temple Baptist. Mikhael was formerly employed at US Steel No 9, Gary Enterprise, Navaro Coal, Baylor Mining in Beckley, Bluestone Coal and XMV Mining. Also, he was a CO at Stevens Correctional, and a transporter for PTI. For many years he was a certified mine section foreman with Cliff Industries in Pineville and was most recently employed at Cramer Security in Beckley. He enjoyed sports and was inducted into the McDowell County Sports Hall of Fame in June of 2018. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his birth mother, Alma Kelly; one brother, Alfred Kelly and two sisters, Mary Safford and Nora Alston. He will be cherished for life, by his wife of 46 years, Phirstina "Tina" Williams and their children: Mikhael O. Williams Jr. of SC, Valeena McLaughlin and Tarra (Kobi) Acheampong both of NC; grandchildren, Chantel (Edward) Jones of NC, Ty'Narra McLaughlin of NC and Micah McLaughlin of the home; three great-grands: Leiana Williams, Chaniia Jones and Knevada Jones; one brother, Charles Williams Sr., of Bluefield and sister, Pernie (Kenneth Sr.) Brown of Havaco; special aunt, Delia Gentry of NJ; a host of nephews, nieces and cousins; special friends: Carl Bell, Derrick Richardson, Buford, Harold,and Pete Brown and Michael Hairston Sr. and his puppy Bently . Services will be held at 12:30 p.m., on Wednesday November 21, 2018 at Miracle Mt. Carmel Church of God in Kimball, with the Reverends: Kenneth L. Orr, Larry Hairston, George Masterson and Elder Anthony Bell officiating. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens 6605 New Hope Road in Bluewell. Friends may call at 10:30 a.m., until the time of Service at the Church.
