Services for Mrs. Cassandra F. "Candy" Saunders Foye age 56, of Thorpe, WV, who passed away on Tuesday, at CAMC Memorial Division in Charleston, following illness. She was born October 18, 1961 in Welch, and the daughter of the late John E. Saunders Sr. and Ruby F. Helms Saunders. Candy was a graduate of both Northfork High School and Bluefield State College, where she received her degree in Criminal Justice. She had worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in St. Albans and the McDowell Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Gary. Candy was a faithful member of Uprising Chapel United Holiness Church in Rolfe, where she served as an Usher, Choir member, Kitchen Committee, president of the Missionary Society and vice president of the subdistrict Usher Board. She was known for her quiet spirit and soft speech. She loved the Lord and her family and was a loyal friend. Candy enjoyed shopping and traveling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her birthparents, Winston Tyree Sr. and Bessie Marshall. her mother-in-law, Ada White, brother-in-law, Tony White and one uncle, John E. Saunders. Jr. Candy will be greatly missed by her devoted husband, Dan S. Foye of the home and their daughter, Shantia D. Foye of Creedmoor, NC; three brothers: Jerry (Susan) Saunders of Pageton, Warren (Dawn) and Winston Tyree Jr. both of Cleveland, OH and brothers-in-law, Clarence White and Eric (Shanita) White both of Bluefield; two sisters: Dacia "Dee-Dee" Marshall of Northfork, Vickie Saunders Gordon of Cleveland and sister-in-law, Claudine (Mike) Ford of Anawalt; her nephews: Deonte' Marshall, Jerry Saunders, Quintten (Charity) Smith, Eugene Gordon Jr. and Jace White; nieces: Shyanne Saunders, Jasmine Donaldson, Olivia and Cecilia White and Adrianna Smith; aunts: Patricia Foster, Hazel Carroll, Beulah Petty and Mary (Curtis) Ray; a host of cousins; her Church family and many friends. A Homegoing Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Uprising Chapel United Holiness Church, with Pastor Donna Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, 6605 New Hope Road in Bluewell. Candy's family and friends will serve as both pallbearers and flower bearers. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., until the time of Service at the Church.
