Services for Mrs. Henrietta Jones Johnson age 91, who resided in Detroit, MI; formerly of Holden, WV, who passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Randolph Health Hospital in Asheboro, NC. She was born August 17, 1926 in Forkland, AL and the daughter of the late Fraskar and Ophelia (Banks) Jones. She was a homemaker, a life long member and the last of the founding members of Sulphur Springs Missionary Baptist Church. She was an active member of the Choir, Missionary Society, Sunday School, Ministers' Wives Council, and the Guyan Valley Baptist Convention, She was a member of the Federated Club, Secret Pals Club and the NAACP. She was a past Matron of the Queen of Sheba, Lodge No. 8 OES. She loved spending time with her family, reading her Bible and listening to Gospel music. Her most favorite pastime was spent, shopping; especially for shoes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Percy Johnson Sr., two sons, Percy Jr. and Michael, her granddaughter, Whitney and eight siblings. She will be lovingly remembered by her devoted children: Sandra Farr (husband, Val deceased) of Detroit, with whom she made her home; Jeffery Johnson (wife, Jena deceased) of NC, Patricia Johnson of Holden, Phillip(Tammy) Johnson of OH, and Lydia Johnson of NC; six grandchildren: Brian, Kristi, Ruthie and Tiashieka Johnson, Tamara(Raeford) Sparks and Tonya(Justin) Tanks;11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; one brother, Allen Jones of Detroit and a sister, Lois(Ben) Ellis of OH; a host of favorite nephews, nieces and a cousin, James aka "Buddy" Gilmore of Detroit. Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Sulphur Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Holden, WV, with Pastor Philemon Dillard officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery Pecks Mill, WV. Pallbearers: family and friends (active): Darrell Hamlet, Darrell McFann, Terrell Monroe and Torrey Patton, (honorary) Leon Graham, Brian Johnson, Darnell Jones, Isaiah Jones Jr., Kenny, Keith and Kevin Jones Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., until the time of Service.
