Mrs. Lillian O. Beaver Witcher-Hazzard who resided in Kimball, WV and departed this life on Thursday, in Welch Community Hospital. She was born in Algoma, WV and the daughter of the late James and Rebecca (Smith) Beaver. She was a life long member of the Little Rock Church of Christ in Algoma, where she was an active member of the International Women's Council (COOLJC) and the Nurse's Guild. For a number of years, she was employed as a Social worker for the Council of Southern Mountains in Welch. She enjoyed traveling, crocheting and floral arranging. She had a melodious singing voice and was an excellent cook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Wade Witcher, one son, Victor Hazzard Sr., two brothers, Carl and Steven Beaver. Her loving, caring spirit will be missed by her friends and family, which includes; her husband, Jeff Hazzard of the home; her two daughters, Wendy K. Witcher and Vaness M. Witcher both of Columbus, OH; her step-son, Cyrus Johnson of Bluefield, WV and an adopted daughter, Brenda Martin of Welch; her grandchildren: Re'Cardo W. Witcher, Ge'Ona L. Witcher, Victoria, Shaneta,and Victor Hazzard Jr., and LaQuisha B. Mercer, her 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Deacon William (Rebecca) Beaver of East Orange NJ;, her special aunt, Mother Easter Mae Witcher of Algoma and her uncle, George (Edna) Smith of Buffalo, NY and aunt, Lerah Palmer of Oxon Hill, MD; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. A Homegoing Celebration Service will be held at 11:00 a;m., on Friday, July 12, 2019 at the Little Rock Church of Christ in Algoma, with the District Elder Joseph Saunders officiating. Interment will follow in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery 5550 Bagging Plant Road, Dublin, VA. Family and friends will serve as both pallbearers and flower bearers. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., until the time of Service. .
