Mrs. Lillie B. Bushnell

Mrs. Lillie B. Gravely Bushnell, age 93 of Accokeek, MD; formerly of Kimball, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2019, with her family by her side.  She was born on August 6, 1925 in Bottom Creek, to the late Caroline H. and John W. Gravely.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John Bushnell, one son, Bobby J. Bushnell; a sister, Roberta Gravely; two brothers, John "Jimmy" and George Gravely.  She was the last surviving member of her original family.  She was a long time member of Lovely Zion Baptist Church, and joined at an early age.  She was a very active member in all of the Church activities and a member of the Adult Choir.  She served on the Finance Committee and was a member and Treasurer of the Usher Board.  She worked with the youth in their activities for many years. She was a graduate of Kimball High School as well as a member of the Kimball High School Alumni for many years.  She attended Bluefield State College and was a Head Start Teacher for the McDowell Council of Southern Mountains.  She leaves to mourn her death, one daughter, Lisa Bushnell Leath and her husband, Michael with whom she resided with in Accokeek, Maryland; three sons:  Ronald W. Bushnell and his wife, Deborah of Kimball; Eric Bushnell and his wife, Sandra of North Carolina and Dwight Bushnell of Maryland; daughter-in-law, Chevelle Bushnell of Maryland; six grandchildren:  Jalen, Taneisha, and Alisa Bushnell, Kiara Leath, Sheena Bell and Michael Daniels; special friends:  Linda Allen and Sylvene Thomas; sisters-in-law:  Geraldine Gravely, Betty Skinner, Florence Davidson, Madeline Shelton and Mollye Bushnell; a host of nephews, nieces; other relatives and friends.  Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, March 29, 2019 at Lovely Zion Baptist Church in Kimball,.  Entombment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 6605 New Hope Road in Bluewell.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m.
