Mrs. Lucille W. Weaver, a long time resident of Gary, who peacefully departed this life on Thursday in the comforts of her home. She was born in Sycamore, AL and the daughter of Polly Wilson and Willie Cook. After completing her education, she moved to West Virginia and lived in Havaco for several years. She had lived and worked in Buffalo, NY, before returning to West Virginia, where she made her home in Gary (Pinch Back) for the remainder of her life. She was a member of the (former) Conley Chapel Church in Gary, and later joined Rock Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Gary. She enjoyed being a homemaker, shopping and taking trips. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Weaver; her siblings: Mary K. Lawyer, Willie Faye Moore, Scottie Stark, Alma Warren and Thomas Wilson and her aunt and uncle, Mae Ellen and Louis Fowler, who helped raise her. She is survived by her brother, Johnny and wife, Betty Cook of Jonesboro, GA; several nephews and nieces; other relatives and her god-children, Tracy Allison of Gary and Leon Allison Jr. of Atlanta, GA; and her devoted caregiver, Priscilla Murrell Dalton and family of Gary. Service will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Rock Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Donald Dykes officiating, assisted by Rev. George Masterson. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, 6605 New Hope Road in Bluewell. Family and friends will serve as both pallbearers and flower bearers. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., until the time of Service.
