Mrs. Nonie "Charlene" Rose Sparks, age 62 of Newhall, WV, who departed this life on Wednesday in the comforts of her home. She was born in Cucumber and the daughter of the late Clarence and Creolla (Bolen) Rose. She was a 1973 graduate of Big Creek High School and was of the Baptist faith. She was a homemaker and had worked as a dispatcher for the (former) Dry Fork Rescue Squad and at Magic Mart in Tazewell, VA. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed electronic games and watching Forensic Files on television. She will be remembered for the love she had for her husband, children, grandchildren and all of her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Clarence Jr., son-in-law, Richard Brewster, two sisters, Carolyn Rose and Deborah Harmon and brother-in-law, (4-3-18), Franklin Sparks. She will be greatly missed by her husband, Clarence and children: Dallas Brent Sparks and partner, Bruce Duncan of Newhall, Cathy Goodman and Spring Brewster both of Mt. Airy, NC also Rebecca "Becky" and husband, Jason Rash of Jefferson, NC; sister, Cathy and husband, Rev. Roger Hatfield of Florida; brother-in-law, Luther Sparks of Newhall; grandchildren: Cody, Ariel (Benjamin), and great-grandchildren, Alayna and Ivory; aunts, Alice Prescott of Tazewell and Eva Taylor of Georgia; a host of nephews, nieces; several cousins and a host of adopted children and many friends. A Memorial Service honoring the Life of Charlene Sparks will be held at a later date. .
