Randolph "Randy" DeLoatch

Randolph "Randy" DeLoatch age 83, a long time resident of Kimball, WV, who departed this life on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 in BRMC, Bluefield, WV, following illness. He was born January 1, 1934 in Rich Square, NC and the eldest of nine children born to the late Whalon and Minnie DeLoatch.  After completing his service time with the U.S. Army, he lived in Topeka, KS for 10 years.  He moved to New York City, where he met and married Gwen, his companion and best friend of almost 50 years.  While living in New York, he became a member of the Anthenian Grand Lodge, where he was a 33rd degree Mason.  After retiring almost 20 years ago, Randy and Gwen moved to Kimball.  He was a devoted member and an ordained Deacon at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church and a member of the Kimball Masonic Lodge No. 13.  He was a MWPHGL Past Grand Lecturer for the M.W. Prince Hall Grand Lodge of WV.  Randy loved being a public servant for his community and the Town of Kimball, where he served as city councilman before being elected as  Mayor.  He was the assistant Fire Chief Emeritus for the Volunteer Fire Department and served on the Boards of:  911 Advisory, President of EDA, Kimball War Memorial Building and the Council of Southern Mountains.  He enjoyed doing "fish fry" fundraisers for both his Church and the fire department.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret.  He leaves cherished memories to his loving, devoted wife, Gwen; his son,  John,two grandchildren, Jaron and Katina and two great-grandchildren; two step-children, Simone (Eric) and Felix; three step-grandchildren:  Philip, Erica and Zachary; his siblings:  Shirley (Thomas), Joan, Wayne (Desiree), Bobby (Thelma), Evelyn (Vernon), Ray (Evelyn), Larry (Debbie) and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends.  A Celebration of  Life Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, August 26. 2017 at the Houston United Methodist Church 241 Lavinia Street, in Kimball.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., and Masonic rites will be conducted at 11:15 a.m.,  Interment will follow Service at Woodlawn Memorial Park 3410 Coal Heritage Road in Bluewell, WV, where military rites will be performed by the WV Honor National Guard..
