Ronald Gene Childress of Williamson, West Virginia departed this life on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at his residence.  Ronnie, as he was affectionately known, was born August 26, 1941 in Chattaroy, West Virginia to the late Curtis and Martha E. Childs Childress.

He was a graduate of Liberty High School, a veteran in the United States Army and retired from Williamson Memorial Hospital as a Cook.  He was a long time member of Logan Street First Baptist Church, a dedicated Sunday School member, was President of the Senior Choir and a member of the Board of Christian Education.  He was a member of the NAACP.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Arthur Lee, Bernard, G.C. and James Thomas Childress.

He is survived by his brothers, Marvin (Beverly) Childress and Walter (Mabel) Childress both of Williamson, West Virginia; a sister, Frances (Willie) Lampkin of Parkersburg, West Virginia and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Services will be Friday, January 5, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Logan Street First Baptist Church in Williamson, West Virginia with Reverend Gerald Dotson, Pastor officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Gregory-Page Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
