Aaron D. AKA "Jazz" Brown age 56 of Gastonia, NC;formerly of Havaco, WV, departed this life early on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 in Florence, SC at Regency Hospital, following a brief illness. Aaron was born in Welch, WV on the 10th day of June in 1966. He was the son of Bonnie Brown and Ethel and Walter Brown Sr.. Jazz as he was known to both family and friends was raised in Havaco, WV and a graduate of Mount View High School. He attended both Bluefield State College and Purdue University, where he was on the Basketball Team. While living in Gary, IN he was a Correctional Officer and had served as a Police Officer in both Buffalo, NY and for the City of Welch. Also, he was formerly employed at the McDowell County Courthouse. He was a die hard Dallas Cowboys' fan and an avid reader and computer wiz. He enjoyed cooking and ironing his clothes like no one else could. He was preceded in death by his birth mom, Bonnie and his parents/grandparents, Walter Sr., and Ethel; his uncles: Walter Jr., and Jerome (Hazel) Brown and aunt, Eulalia Jean Headen and three cousins, Monica Headen, Jennifer and Jermaine Brown. Aaron is survived by and leaves cherished memories to his sister, Debra Brown Belle and his children: Alexis and Aaron Brown Jr., (mother, Mindy), Jehda Brown (mother, Alica Brown), Knoraa Brown (mother, Kasandra Cleage) and a stepson, Dallas Witcher; four grandchildren: Miyanni Brown, Legend, Laila & Lola Mitchell; his devoted domestic partner, Teresa Mack; special uncle and aunt, Buford and Wilma Brown; four uncles, Darryl Brown (Margaret), Harold (Dorothy, deceased) Brown, Kenneth (Pernie) Brown and Jerry Headen; aunts, Carol (Carlvene, his special uncle Boobie) Neely and Sharon Brown; his Family in love: the late Archie Sr. and Carolyn Hairston and their children: Kimberly, Clayton, Archie (Antonio) Hairston and Toni (Jimmie) Leonard; his nephews and nieces: Robert Belle IV, AJ, Michael, Tia, Abrianna, Aalayah, Owen Belle, Hazel and Haley Belle, Steven, Maurice, Terry, Taylor, Monica, Amare,' Tatyana and Jermaine; brother-in-law, Robert Belle III; special cousins: Myron, Michael, Erik, and Monica Brown and a host of other relatives and dear, close friends; which includes: Sherry Lee, Shirley Brame, Evelyn Isaac, Brenda Williams, Andre' Ferreria and Val Bumpass his North Carolina Family in love. . A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at First Baptist Church 159 Prosperity Drive in Wilcoe, WV with the Reverends: David Cooper, George Masterson, Kenneth Orr, William Spencer and Overseer Anthony J. Bell officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM. Services entrusted to Gregory-Page Funeral Home in Welch, WV.
