Mrs. Barbara Gale Walker Crawley age 73 was called from labor to reward on Friday, July 1, 2022 while in the comforts of her home in Elkhorn, WV, surrounded by her loved ones. Barbara was born September 18, 1948 in Elkhorn to the late Junior “Sack” and Dorothy L. Jones Walker. She was a life long resident of Elkhorn and a graduate of Elkhorn High School Class of 1966. She retired after many years from the McDowell County Board of Education, where she had worked as a Special Education Aide at both Elkhorn and Switchback Elementary Schools and retired from Kimball Elementary. She was a life long member of Upland Missionary Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as Church Clerk, President of the Pastors' Aide, both New Direction Choir and Usher board member, Missionary Society and the Kitchen Committee. Barbara loved arts & crafts and collecting carousel horses. She was a member of the Artistic Society and an avid fan of both the Pittsburgh Steelers and WVU Mountaineers. Whatever she was called upon to do, she never said "no," and did it with all of her heart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Kristina; brother, Harold "Stinky" Walker and both her maternal and paternal grandparents; her daughter-in-love, Diana Crawley and a grand-daughter, Jordan. Barbara leaves a lifetime of treasured memories to her husband, James "Jimmie" Crawley Sr., of the home and son, James "JR" Crawley of Bluefield, WV; her grandson, Tian C. Crawley and great-grandson, Darious McNeeley; her sisters: Patricia (Wayne) Weaver of Waldorf, MD, Janice Neal of Bryans Road, MD and Gloria "Faye" (the Reverend Tim) Hairston of Elkhorn; her adopted sister, Sandra "Cel" Massenburg of Fort Washington, MD; a special brother-in-law, Joseph Neal Sr., her nephews: Joseph Neal Jr., David Hairston, Steven Walker and nieces, Erica Weaver and Angie Hairston; great-nephews: DeAndre Weaver, Adonte Williams, Joseph Neal III., great-nieces, Zy'iana Walker and Jada Henderson; god-daughter, Traci Johnson; her best friend for over 60 years, Barbara "Peaches" Hairston; a special, devoted caregiver, Brenda Ivy Marshall and a host of other relatives, her Church family, neighbors and friends. Mrs. Crawley's Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Upland Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Dane Moore officiating and the Reverend Tim Hairston presiding. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m., on Friday, July 8, 2022. Her Nephews will serve as pallbearers and her Nieces, God-daughter and Ladies of the Church are flower bearers. Interment 11:00 a.m., on Monday, July 11, 2022 at Roselawn Cemetery 450 Courthouse Road in Princeton, WV. Services entrusted to Gregory-Page Funeral Home in Welch.
