Barbara Jo (Warren) Moore

Barbara Jo “Jodie” Moore, 67, of Williamson, West Virginia departed this life on September 25, 2022. She was born November 25, 1954 in Goody, Kentucky to the late Sam and Charlotte Martin Warren. Barbara was a graduate of Williamson High School and Southern Community College. She had many talents and worked for several companies, but found her calling and retired from Mingo County Health Department. Barbara was a woman of faith, and truly loved and depended on God for her strength. She was a loving mother, devoted grandmother, loving sister and friend to many. She had the ability to make all feel welcomed and loved while in her presence. Barbara would always have a listening ear for those that needed it and provided words of encouragement and wisdom to assist them through difficult times. She enjoyed reading, journaling, crafting and dancing, as well as listening to music. Barbara was full of life and inspired those she came in contact with on a daily basis. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by two brothers, James Hunter and Larry Warren.

Barbara is survived by two brothers and six sisters; Clyde (Janet) West of Fayetteville, North Carolina; Harry (Laura) Warren of Williamson, West Virginia; Patsy Johnson, Margaret Norfleet, Sandra (Mark) Williams, Bonnie (Lee) Tucker of Roanoke, Virginia; Doris (James) Bradley and Charlotte “Charlie” Poindexter of Williamson, West Virginia.

Barbara leaves to cherish her memories and legacy of life to her three daughters; Angela Moore of Williamson, West Virginia; Serena Wilkerson of Charlotte, North Carolina and Brittney Wilkerson of Williamson, West Virginia; twelve grandchildren; Alexandria Hatcher, Christopher Wilkerson-Taylor, Deja Lee, Haley Baker, Destiny Lee, Silas Boyd, Kanye Johnson, Elyssia Wilkerson, Cashmeir Wilkerson, Malachi Hairston, Briley Moon, Manny Hairston; five great-grandchildren; Ja’naiah Moore, Myles Moore, Bryson Moore, Trenton Moore, Zi’Mira Vernon and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends. 

Services will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Pentecostal Tabernacle UHC, 558 Mulberry Street, Williamson, West Virginia, Rick Wilkerson, Pastor.  Elder Thomas Moore will officiate the service. Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m.
