Beverly J. Epps McDaniel

February 14, 1941 ~ August 9, 2023 (age 82) 82 Years Old

Obituary

Mrs. Beverly Jean Epps McDaniel, a life long resident of Gary, West Virginia was born on February 14, 1941 in Bedford, Virginia and the daughter of Alberta Epps and William Reese.

Beverly was raised by her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Epps whom she referred to her grandmother, Jessie as "Moma."  Beverly was a graduate of Gary District High, as a child she attended (the former) Metropolitan Methodist Church in Gary.  After graduating from High School, Beverly remained at home to care for her "Moma," Jessie.  In I980, Beverly began to fellowship at Miracle Mt. Carmel Holiness Church of God and became a member of the Church, under the leadership of the late Bishop Arnie H. Joyce.

Beverly loved to travel, be it Doctors appointments, Church, or visiting family and friends.  It was always a joy for her to get away.  She loved spending time and having dinner with her god family.  There was always laughter around the dinner table, as she had her very own way of expressing how good the meals were.  Beverly loved everyone with whom she came in contact.  There was no one like Moma Lottie and Pastor Joyce, who drove her to and from Church.  Beverly loved taking care of the elderly throughout her lifetime, she had taken care of so many people both locally and in the Columbus, Ohio area.  Beverly had a passion for the Lord and always had her Bible and tambourine with her whenever she went to Church.  Her favorite song was "Lord I Just Wanna Thank You," which she loved for the late Bishop Izalliar Dalton to sing; especially on her birthday.

One of Beverly's highlights was when she met and married Albert McDaniel.  She showed everyone her wedding album and in her own words stated "I know I was a Beautiful Bride," as her goddaughter, Tonya had fixed her hair and attire.

On Wednesday, August 9, 2023, Beverly McDaniel departed this earthly life and gained her "Heavenly Wings" at Welch Community Hospital in Welch, West Virginia.

Beverly was preceded in death by her natural parents, Alberta and William; her maternal grandparents who raised her and her husband, Albert McDaniel; her brothers:  Harry Reese and Larry Reese Sr., her godmother,  Mother Mozelle Thomas; her god-sisters, Minister Ida "Libby" Bell, Sister Gloria Jean Huff and Bishop Izalliar Dalton; one goddaughter,  Wendy M.
