Curtis Hight, Sr., 97, of Williamson, West Virginia departed this life on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Kentucky. He was born August 21, 1928 in McAndrews, Kentucky to the late Thomas and Josephine Brown Hight.
In additions to his parents, Curtis was preceded in death by three wives; Helen Dillard Hight, Deloris Smith Hight and Margaret Peggy Towles Hight; one son, Curtis “Cup” Hight, Jr. and eight siblings.
Curtis attended Liberty High School and retired from Northern & Western Railroad as a Car Repairman. He was a member of Logan Street First Baptist Church and recently was recognized at the 130th Church Anniversary as the oldest member both by membership of 80 years and age of 97 years. He formerly served as a Deacon, chairman of the Deacon Board, former member of the Trustee Board and Senior Choir, and worked faithfully for years on the Vacation Bible School Staff. He was a faithful member of the Baptist Men’s Club when it existed, and hunted for the Wild Game Dinners, a fundraiser for the men of the church. He was a member of the Williamson Crown Lodge #16 F&AM, and the Kentucky Colonel. As an avid Hunter, he and his son, Stuart would annually travel to Youngstown, Ohio to rabbit hunt with his brother, Ernest.
Curtis leaves to mourn his loss, a son, Stuart (Angie) Hight of Williamson; a sister, Dorothy Cardwell of Cleveland, Ohio; four grandchildren, Curtis (Brandi) Hight, III of Williamson; Maurice (Shenna) Hight of Kemper, Kentucky; Alea Hollon of Kentucky and Matthew (Taylor) Parks of Logan, West Virginia; six step-children; one great-grandchild, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025 at Logan Street First Baptist Church, 620 Logan Street, in Williamson, West Virginia at 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Funeral service will start at 12 Noon. Reverend Joseph Moore will be the Officiant & Eulogist. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memory Gardens in Maher, West Virginia. Pallbearers will be the Williamson Crown Lodge #16 F&AM. Arrangements have been entrusted to Gregory-Page Funeral Home.
