Darnell W. Gravely

Darnell William Gravely 72 of Kimball, West Virginia; formerly of Rocky Mount, Virginia who departed this life on Sunday, September 26, 2021 in the comforts of his home.  He was born September 25, 1949 and the first born son of George and  Geraldine (Tucker) Gravely who resided in Bottom Creek, West Virginia.  He was a 1968 graduate of  Welch High School and furthered his education at the Danville Community College in Danville, Virginia.  After many years of employment, he retired from Fieldcrest Cannon Mill in Fieldale, Virginia.  Darnell was an avid out doors man who spent countless hours working on vehicles and doing lawn work.  He worked well with his hands and was known as "Mr. Fix-it," by his siblings.  He enjoyed traveling and shopping at both Lowe's and Walmart Stores.  Darnell took great pride in being the "best big brother" to his siblings and his sense of humor endeared him even more so to each one of them.  In addition to his parents, Darnell was preceded in death by one brother, Jeffrey L. Gravely.  He is survived by two daughters, Stephanie F. Reed of Columbus, Ohio and Zuema Muse of Rocky Mount; his devoted sisters, Jacqueline (Joseph) Holland of Rocky Mount and Rita Gravely, his caregiver of Kimball and his devoted brothers:  Michael Gravely of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Maurice (Brenda) Gravely of Princeton, West Virginia, Leon Gravely of Kimball and Tracy Gravely of Princeton; one grandson and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; his special friends:  Arnetta, Kenya and Zach Mitchell of Keystone, West Virginia and Tony Pritchard of Martinsville, Virginia.  A Celebration of Life Service (family only in attendance)  will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Miracle Mt. Carmel Church of God, 27962 Coal Heritage Road in Kimball.  Entombment Restlawn Mausoleum, 6605 New Hope Road in Bluewell, West Virginia.  His family will serve as both pallbearers and flower bearers.  A public revolving visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., until the time of Service.  Services entrusted to Gregory-Page Funeral Home in Welch, (to leave online condolences:  gregory-pagefh.com.) Please be advised the COVID protocol and the wearing of masks will be followed.
