Blessed with eighty-one years of life, Mrs. Delores Jessie Fuller was called from labor to eternal rest on Tuesday, March 19, 2024.
She was born on May 26, 1942, to the late James Harmon and Luvenia Frost Harmon of Algoma, West Virginia. In addition to her parents, Delores was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Fuller, Sr., her daughter, Gwendolyn Harmon, her son, John Henry Davis and her siblings: Orlando “Claude” Harmon, Tony Harmon, Beulah Harmon, Patsy Harmon Bigelow, Pearl Harmon and Osby Harmon. She was the last surviving member of her original family.
Mrs. Fuller is survived by six children: Charles (Robin) Harmon, James Harmon and Tammy Fuller Rucker all of Gastonia, North Carolina; Ricky (Mary) Harmon of Maybeury, West Virginia; Naomi Davis Flynn (Payton) of Gambrills, Maryland; and Carl Fuller, Jr. (Regina) of Charleston, West Virginia. Dear to her heart, after the passing of her daughter Gwen, she raised her children, Kevin Lang, and Jesse Harmon. She also had three special daughters: Dreama Comer, Becky Johnson, Michelle Younger and a special son: Diijon Davis. She leaves 18 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, four great, great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Delores accepted God at an early age and became a devoted member of the Little Rock Church of Christ in Algoma, West Virginia, where she served as the President of the Pastor’s Aide Ministry. She also served on various other church ministries and committees.
She was known as Lois and attended Elkhorn High School. Lois was a traditional, stay-at-home mother who prioritized her family’s needs over her own. She raised 10 children and her day started early. She made breakfast and lunch for her husband, helped her children get ready for school, assisted them with homework, attended school events, prepared dinner, and scheduled numerous doctor appointments and trips to the grocery store. Her roles included, but were not limited to, nurse, chef, baker, seamstress, counselor, and teacher. She excelled as a mom and it’s impossible to calculate the value of all the effort and sacrifice she dedicated to her family. Her earthly rewards were the words “I love you,” and “Thank you!” Her reward in Heaven will be to hear the words, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”
Delores J. Fuller will be remembered as a loving, dedicated and resilient force. A selfless, giving, and humble woman of integrity, who loved God and her family. Her family, friends, and community will greatly miss her loving and caring spirit.
Mrs. Fuller's Homegoing Celebration Service will begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Little Rock Church of Christ, 85 Fortune Street in Algoma, West Virginia. Entombment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 6605 New Hope Road in Bluewell, West Virginia. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM. Services entrusted to Gregory-Page Funeral Home in Welch, West Virginia.
