Elder Edwin A. Ogburn, Jr., age 74, a resident of Northfork, West Virginia departed this life, on Thursday, November 6, 2025 in Vivian, (McDowell County), West Virginia. 

Ed was born in Welch, West Virginia on July 26, 1951 and the son of Dorothy (Watkins) and Edwin A. Ogburn, Sr.

After completing his high school education, he began his work career as a truck driver and auto repairman.  He moved to Detroit, Michigan where he was employed as a medical assistant and a community organizer for problem youths.  Upon his return to West Virginia, he was employed at the Paul Miller Shelter in Northfork and last employed by Superior Well Services in Kimball, West Virginia, as a truck driver.  

He was licensed as a minister on August 6, 2000 and ordained on February 22, 2004.  His ministry included street evangelism in Detroit, Virginia and in West Virginia.  He had served for two years as a Minister at Rock Hill Baptist Church in Gary, West Virginia.  He began a non-denominational Community Bible Study with Brother Gary Caudell, was an assistant director for the Community of Praise Choir and hosted a television ministry.  In 2006, he was appointed as a Field Missionary for the Flat Top Baptist Association.  He attended Teen Challenge Bible Study, Seminary of  Theology and Flat Top Bible Seminary under Dr. Beals.  During Bishop Clarence Moore's lifetime, he attended Bible Study at Greater Mt. Zion Pentecostal Church in Bluefield, West Virginia, to gain a broader understanding of the Apostolic Faith.  Also, he had served as a driver for Bishop Moore.  At the time of his passing, he was  attending Greater Mt. Zion Pentecostal Church, under the leadership of Bishop Timothy Schofield.  He enjoyed studying the Word of God, talking to others about the Lord and visiting all churches and the sick and shut ins.  For a while, he had served as Chaplain of Kimball Lodge No. 13.  His favorite pastimes were spent fishing, singing and walking his dog.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Edwin L. Davis and one sister, Linda Ogburn.

Ed leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Karen B. Ogburn of the home; one son Edwin A. Ogburn, III., of Michigan, two daughters, Kelli Davis of Ohio and Carla Ogburn of Tennessee; several grandchildren and his three siblings:  French Ogburn, Joyce (Tommy) Hannon and Doris Bryant all of Michigan; a host of nephews, nieces and his cousins. 

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Greater Mt. Zion Pentecostal Church 104 Park Street in Bluefield, West Virginia with Pastor, Bishop Timothy Schofield officiating.  Friends may visit at 12:00 noon, until time of Service at the Church.  A Private viewing was held.  Services entrusted to Gregory-Page Funeral Home in Welch, West Virginia.
