Eugene "Jerod" Turpin age 71, resided at the Pineville Manor in Pineville, WV, was a long time resident of Coalwood, WV, who peacefully departed this life on Saturday, September 5, 2020 in Beckley, WV, following a long illness. He was born December 17, 1948 in Coalwood and the son of the late Eugene and Wilma Turpin. At an early age, he accepted the Lord as his Savior and joined the (former) True Vine Baptist Church in Coalwood, where he was a member of the Choir. Jerod completed his education at Excelsior High School. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Quillian Tyrone Turpin Sr., and one sister, Equilla Turpin. Jerod will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Sandra and her husband, George Street of Somerville, NJ; sister-in-law, Hazel Turpin of Hickory, NC; his nepehws, Quillian II. (Tasha) and Travis, one niece, Teshia; great nephews: Quillian III., Travis Isaiah, Marquee and Gavin; great nieces: Talahni, Skye and Reina; one uncle, Rudolph Wilson of Columbus, OH and an aunt, Marlene Sampson of Maryland; his god-sister, Amelia Howard Smith of Toledo, OH; good friends: Jeanne Kaye, Brittany Lane, Jamie Blankenship and his Pineville Manor Family and a host of other relatives and friends. A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, September 11, 2020 at Restlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 6605 New Hope Road in Bluewell, WV, with the Reverend George Masterson officiating. Interment will follow. Services entrusted to Gregory-Page Funeral Home in Welch, WV. (to leave online condolences: gregory-pagefh.com.) Social distancing and wearing of masks will be observed. .
