Ms. Frenchie Paulette Culbertson of Kimball, West Virginia; formerly of Hemphill, West Virginia, passed away early on Monday, September 22, 2025 in Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, Virginia following a brief illness.
She was born in Welch, West Virginia, on the 23rd day of July, 1963 and the daughter of Sylvester "Jabo" Culbertson and Katie Greenwood Culbertson.
After completing her high school education at Mount View High School in Welch, she began working at Tug River Clinic in Gary, West Virginia, was employed by Mountain Heart Daycare in Princeton, West Virginia and last employed at Little General (formerly Kwik Serve) Deli in Welch, as she was an exceptionally good cook. While growing up in Hemphill, she attended the former, Emmanuel Tabernacle Church. She was a member of Royal Kingdom Ministries in Capels, West Virginia, where she had served as a member of the choir.
Frenchie's most favorite pastimes were spent, watching the cooking shows and calming effects coloring. She was a very talented dancer and a "die hard" Steelers' fan.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Katie and stepfather, Robert Griffin, her father, Sylvester; a granddaughter, Ny'asia and a brother, Donald Baylor.
Frenchie leaves cherished memories of her life to her daughter, Adrianne Culbertson of Welch and her son, Marquis Culbertson of Berwind, West Virginia and the" four delights in her life," her granddaughters: Myniyah, Malaysia "Lola," Maleigha, Khalani and special granddaughter, Aireonna Anderson; her only sister, Kimberly Culbertson of Hemphill and her aunts: Vanessa Greenwood, Edith Culbertson and Margaret Culbertson; her very dear nephews, nieces and cousins; many neighbors and friends and Kimberly Lee of Princeton, West Virginia, whom she regarded as her daughter.
Service in Celebration of Ms. Culbertson's life will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, October 3, 2025 at Royal Kingdom Ministries, 31 Shannon Branch Road in Capels, with Pastor Constance Evans officiating. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens 6605 New Hope Road in Bluewell, West Virginia. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM at the Church. Her family will serve as both pallbearers and flower bearers.
