Hannah M. Anderson-Obey

Mrs. Hannah M. Anderson-Obey age 64 of Jenkinjones, WV, departed this life on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 in Princeton Community Hospital, Princeton, WV, following a brief illness.  Hannah was born April 16, 1958 in Welch, WV and the daughter of the late Harry Sr., and Bertha (Johnson) Anderson.  She was a graduate of Gary High School and received her Degree from Concord (College) University.  Hannah was a homemaker and had worked as a Supervisor at the (former) Paul Miller Shelter in Northfork, WV, for many years was the Post mistress at the Jenkinjones Post Office and last employed as a CNA at the McDowell Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Gary, WV.  She was a faithful member and a willing worker before the closing of Morning Star Baptist Church in Jenkinjones.  Hannah loved spending time with her Family; especially her grand-babies.  She was an avid reader who enjoyed working crossword puzzles, listening to gospel music and watching Christian television programs.  The gifts and talents that Hannah was so richly blessed with, she generously used to help others.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Katherine and a son, Donald Jr.,  one brother, Harry Jr., and her aunt and uncle who helped raise her, Anna and Claude Rucker and her mother-in-law, Lois Obey.  Hannah will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her husband, Donald A. Obey Sr., and their children:  Thomas (Nina) Obey of Jenkinjones, Ala (Taylor Morgan) Obey of Roanoke, VA, Isaiah Obey and fiancee', Cortnei Woody of Bluefield, WV and Jacob Obey of the home; her grandchildren:  Lauren, LaTasha, Roger II., Nevaeh, Aliyah, J'neyah, Isaiah and Airreahna; her brother, Silas Anderson of Bluewell, WV; father-in-law, Clarence "Bo" Obey of Jenkinjones and son-in-law, Eric Jones of North Carolina; her brother-in-law, Michael (Resey) Byers of Bluefield, Virginia  and a host of aunts and uncles,  her nephews, nieces and cousins. her many friends and neighbors.  Mrs. Obey's Service will be held at 12;00 noon on Friday, December 9, 2022 at the Restlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel 6605 New Hope Road, Bluewell, WV with the Reverend Joseph Moore officiating.  Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.  Her Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.  Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM until the time of Service.  Services entrusted to Gregory-Page Funeral Home in Welch.
