Jerry L. Short

Jerry Lee Short age 45, a resident of Hensley, West Virginia, departed this life on Saturday, December 9, 2023 in Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, Virginia, following illness.  He was born in Baltimore, Maryland September 16, 1978 and the son of Jerry Louis Short of Hensley and the late, Teresa Roberts Short.  After graduating high school, he began working and was last employed at the Saw Mill Plant.  He was of the Pentecostal Faith and will be lovingly remembered for his gentle, quiet, humble spirit.  Jerry enjoyed working with his hands; especially repairing vehicles and watching race car driving on television.  In addition to his mother, Teresa, he was preceded in death on October 18, 2023 by "the love of his life," his wife, Angel  J. McNeely Short.  Jerry is survived by his father,  Jerry; his mother-in-law, Alma McNeely of Hensley; his devoted children:  Emalee and her husband, Terry Horn of Davy West Virginia, Kimberlee (Nicholas), Haylee (Dawson),  and Jerry R. (Sam) Short all of Hensley; his grandchildren:  Noah Onzie Ray, Titus Athony Lee, Tanjiro James Horn and (their sister), his granddaughter, who is due to arrive in 2024; his siblings:  Brian and his wife, Tasha Short of Premier, West Virginia, James and his wife, Pamela Short  of Hensley, Candace and her husband, Curtis Odell of Hensley and Kevin and his wife, Dedra Short of Welch, West Virginia; brother-in-law, Randy R. McNeely Jr. of Davy and a host of uncles, aunts; nephews, nieces and cousins.   A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 noon, on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at the Marytown Community Church in Marytown, West Virginia with Pastor Jeff Powell officiating.  Arrangements entrusted to Gregory-Page Funeral Home in Welch.
