Joseph T. Edwards Sr.

Services for Joseph T. "Joe" Edwards Sr., age 58, a lifelong resident of Havaco, WV, who departed this life on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 in Fayetteville, NC.  He was born March 23, 1959 in Premier and the son of the late Charlie and Geraldine (Gray) Edwards. He was a 1979 graduate of Welch High School, where he was active and excelled in three sports:  football, track and wrestling, He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of both the Kentucky and WV National Guard and the American Legion.  For many years, he was employed by H.C. Lewis Oil Co in Welch and later at Wal-Mart in Kimball.  He was a member of Havaco Temple Baptist Church. Joe enjoyed traveling, was a Patriot's fan and a gardener.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Ronald "Buff" Edwards.  He will be sadly missed by his children:  1st Lieutenant Joseph T. (Natasha) Edwards Jr., Jayden Edwards and Jordan Edwards; grandchildren:  Keyonnah, Breyonnah, Tristan, MacKenzie, and Brayden; his siblings:  Charles "Tyrone,"  Linda, Donald, Kenneth (Margie), Michael (Kim) Dorris and Steven Edwards; uncle, Garnet Edwards Sr., aunts, Vennie Ward and Betty Johnson; a host of nephews and nieces; special cousin, Garnet Edwards Jr. Service honoring the life of Joseph T. Edwards Sr., will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Miracle Mt. Carmel Church of God in Kimball, with the Reverend Kenneth L. Orr, eulogist.  Interment will follow in Rest lawn Memorial Gardens 6605 New Hope Road in Bluewell.  Family and friends will serve as both pallbearers and flower bearers.  Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., until time of Service.
