Kelvin Lamarr Dubouse AKA "Top" age 42, of Havaco, West Virginia departed this life early, on Monday, May 5, 2025 at Welch Community Hospital in Welch, West Virginia.
He was born on July 29, 1982 in Welch and the son of Margaret M. Dubouse and Darryl A. "Pete" Brown Sr., of Havaco. Kelvin, and to those who knew him as "Top," was a graduate of Mount View High School, where he was an excellent football player and continued playing with excellence while attending West Virginia University. In earlier years, he was a member of Mt. Zion Church of Christ in Havaco and used his talented singing voice in the Choir.
Kelvin's employment throughout the years included both Cole and Ramey Automotive Groups, and a special needs teacher and football coach at Graham High School in Bluefield, Virginia. He was a Correctional Officer at Stevens Correctional in Welch and was the football coach at Mount View High School. It was often said,"Kelvin lived and breathed FOOTBALL." He was either playing the game, talking the game or encouraging his teams to keep their heads in the game. He enjoyed playing video games, listening to his style of music, "R&B" and an avid fan of the Detroit Lions.
Kelvin earned the title "Coach," as his love and enthusiasm for football could not be measured. He had played semi-pro for the Bluefield Barons team and attended the Casino Bowl as a MVP.
He was preceded in death by both his maternal grandparents, Lucy and Samuel Dubouse and paternal grandparents, Ethel and Walter Brown Sr., his aunts: Jean Headen, Bonnie, Hazel and Pernie Brown and uncles, Alex and Walter Brown Jr.
Kelvin "Top's," love for his family, kids and football was immeasurable. He leaves a life time of cherished memories to his parents, Margaret and Darryl "Pete" Sr., his children: Jashawn Collins, Giovanni and Xavier Dubouse all of Havaco and Lydia Hughes of Bluefield, West Virginia; his fiancee,' Alexis Alley of Big Sandy, West Virginia; his brothers: Mark and his wife, Kelly Dubouse of Welch and Darryl "Giz" Brown Jr., of Havaco; his uncles: Buford and his wife, Wilma, Kenneth and Harold Brown, Willie Dubouse and Jasper Headen; his aunts: Carol Neely, Sharon Brown, Janice Dawson, Hazel Brown and Tina (deceased, Mikheal Sr.) Williams; his multitude of cousins, friends and his Graham G-MEN and Mount View Golden Knights' Teams.
Kelvin Lamarr "Top" Dubouse's Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, May 10, 2025 in the Bob N. Jack Auditorium located at 950 Mount View High School Road in Welch with Overseer Anthony J. Bell officiating, assisted by the Reverends: Ray Altizer, George Masterson and Kenneth L. Orr. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, until the time of Service. Family and friends will serve as both pallbearers and flower bearers. Services entrusted to Gregory-Page Funeral Home in Welch.
