Lamont Davis

 Bailey "Lamont" Davis age 66 of Maybeury, WV; formerly of Northfork, WV departed this life on Monday, August 21, 2023 at his residence.  He was born October 24, 1956 in Welch, WV and his given name was Bailey Lamont Davis.  Throughout his life time he was known as Lamont Davis.  He was a graduate of Northfork High School and an outstanding basketball player.  As a youth, he attended First Missionary Baptist Church in Northfork.  He was employed for a number of years at the McDowell County Courthouse in Welch.  Also, he was an employee of the ATV Powerhouse Resort in Maybeury.  Lamont was a people person, always greeting others with a smile.  Lamont was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Braggs Davis; his parents, Earnest Davis and Alice Bailey and his grandparents, who raised him, Lula and  Ocie Davis.  Lamont is survived by his son, whom he shared with Rhonda Johnson, Clifton Lamont Johnson and his wife, Ashanti; grandchildren:  Xavier Lee and Laila Marley Johnson of Jacksonville, FL; his sister, Edna Davis Jenkins and nephews, Robert F. Jenkins III. and Jared M. Jenkins and one niece, Alexis N. Jenkins of Bowie, MD; one brother, James L. Bailey and his cousins:  William White, Christine Heilig, Leslie Hopkins, Reggie White, Robert White, Vanessa Wilkes, Robbin Hairston and Kenny White, Garnett Heilig, Rosse' Hopkins, Tiffini Price and many, many other close relatives and friends.  A Memorial Service celebrating the Life of Bailey "Lamont" Davis will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at First Missionary Baptist Church in Northfork, WV.
