Larry Eugene Williams age 71, a life long resident of War, West Virginia, departed this life on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 in Welch Community Hospital. Larry was born in War on the 14th day of March in 1952 and the son of Irene Pearl Williams. He was a graduate of Big Creek High School and of the Baptist Faith. Larry was employed for over 30 years, before retiring from Goodson's Supermarket in Welch, West Virginia. For a number of years, he had worked at (the former) Deskins Supermarket also in Welch. Larry enjoyed sports and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Irene and two of his siblings, Connie Sibert and Randy Williams. Also his grandfather, Walter Williams and his brother-in-law, Miles Cary. Those left to cherish his memory are his children: Michelle Hankins and Keisha (Gary Jones) Hankins both of Charleston, West Virginia, Larry and his wife, Danielle Hankins of Glen Bernie, Maryland, Ethan and Latristian Quinley both of Bradshaw, West Virginia; one aunt, Linda F. Hamlet of Charleston; his siblings: Barbara Cary, Evelyn Williams, Brenda Williams, Linda Williams, Henry Williams and Rickey Williams all of Charleston and Robert Williams of Huntington, West Virginia; his seven grandchildren: Jaliyiah, Jalen, Anniyah, Alijah, Xzavion, LaDavion, ZaLaya, Ariyah and Aveaha; a host of nephews, nieces; several generations of cousins and his very special friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Larry Eugene Williams at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at the St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 135 Court Street in Welch, with Reverend George Masterson officiating. Private Viewing for Family 10:30 AM. Visitation for the Public 11:00 AM until the time of Service at the Church. Services entrusted to Gregory-Page Funeral Home in Welch.
