Linwood Starling Obituary

Linwood Alexander Starling, 86, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022 in the Nella's Autumn Nursing Home in Elkins, West Virginia where he has resided for the past three years, 

He was born in Williamson, West Virginia on April 14, 1935 to the late Edward Sr. and Mary Ellen Starling.  After completing his education, he joined the United States Army.  Upon his return to Williamson, he worked in the coal mines.  Before retiring, he was a self-employed contractor for a number of years. He was a life-long resident of Williamson, was well known throughout Mingo County and was of the Presbyterian faith.   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings; Johnny, Millard, Huzel, Louise, Carl Sr., Jane, Thuman Sr., Edward Jr., Calvin, Emory, Guy, Sr. and Charles Sr.  He was the last surviving member of his original family.

He leaves heartfelt memories of  his productive life to the remainder of his family; two devoted nephews, Charles (Cindy) Starling, Jr. of New York and Carl Starling, Jr. of Maryland and a host of other nephews, nieces and cousins.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 1, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at Mountain View Memory Gardens at Maher, West Virginia. Officiant will be Elder Rick Wilkerson, pastor of Pentecostal Tabernacle United Holiness Church in Williamson, West Virginia.  Under the direction of Commander Raymond Brown, Military Rites will be performed by the Kentucky Post 141 from Belfry, Kentucky.  Arrangements are entrusted to Gregory-Page Funeral Home.
