Mrs. Loretta P. Cox Mask a life long resident of War, WV who peacefully departed this life on Sunday, June 19, 2022 in Princeton Community Hospital, Princeton, WV, after celebrating her 67th birthday on June 14. Loretta was born in 1955 and the daughter of the late Dorothy Cox and Wesley Gray. She was a 1973 graduate of Big Creek High School and a member of the (former) Rosebud Baptist Church in Excelsior, WV. She married the love of her life, Julius "Dwight" Mask Sr., 50 years ago and became a homemaker. Loretta was employed for many years at the Magic Mart Store in Welch, WV and when the Wal mart Store in Kimball, WV opened began working there. Later transferring to the Bluefield, VA Wal mart Store, where she was employed at the time of her passing. Loretta was a "people person," as she never met a stranger. She loved and enjoyed spending time with her Family and was known for having a "sweet tooth." In addition to her parents, Loretta was preceded in death by two brothers, (infant) James Cox and Thomas Gray; one nephew, Leonard Thomas and a niece, Shaniqua Cox. A very loving, devoted wife, mother, nana and friend, Loretta will be missed and always loved by her friends and her Family. In her passing, Loretta leaves her husband, Julius "Dwight" Mask Sr., one daughter, Novella M. (Jack) Handy of Stoneville, NC and one son, Julius D. Mask Jr. (Tabitha) of Princeton, WV, (where Loretta and Dwight had most recently purchased a home.) Her five grandchildren: Samira, Selena, Melia, Bryson, and Nova; her siblings: Carl Gray of Georgetown, SC, Johnny Gray of War, Anna Hazel (Charles) Johnson, Linda (Ralph) Walker, Dorothy Cox and Deborah Cox all of Boston, MA, Barbara Ferguson and Laverne (Tommy) Johnson both of Flint, MI and Janice McClure of Charleston, WV; her brother-in-law, Johnny Mask Jr., and sisters-in-law: Marlene Pounds, Sharon (Clint) Giles, Juliette (Keith) Mask-Gurley, Barbara Mask and Terri Lynn Gill; a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Loretta's Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at St. James Missionary Baptist Church 135 Court Street, Welch, WV, with the Reverend George Masterson officiating, assisted by the Reverend William Spencer. Entombment will follow in Restlawn Mausoleum 6605 New Hope Road in Bluewell, WV. Family and friends will serve as both pallbearers and flower bearers. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., at the Church. Services have been entrusted to the Gregory-Page Funeral Home in Welch, WV.
