Lue Anna Totten

Mrs. Lue Anna Totten of Elkhorn, WV, peacefully departed this life in the comforts of her home, early on Sunday, December 3, 2023.  Born Lue Anna Holland, on the 17th day of August, 1935 in Ennis, (McDowell County) WV, into the very loving parentage of Henry and Clara Holland.  After completing her education, she married her life long soul mate, Dillard Totten, and had lived and worked for a few years in Brooklyn, NY.  After returning to McDowell County, they made their home in Elkhorn for over 50 years.  Lue was a member of Mercy Seat Baptist Church in Kyle, WV, where she faithfully served until failing health, as a member and treasurer of the Choir and the Kitchen committee.  Lue was an active member of the McDowell County Commission on Aging Senior Citizens.  She loved singing gospel songs and playing her piano at home.  She was an amazing cook and enjoyed baking cakes.  She had a lively, spirited personality and enjoyed spending time with others.  Lue was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Clara and her seven siblings:  Albert, Bessie, Bertha, Beulah, Ina, James and Martha.  She was the last of her original family.  Lue will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband of 62 years, Dillard and her son, Claude and his wife, Gladys Holland of Detroit, MI; her grandson, Eric Trent of Bluefield, WV; her seven brothers and sisters-in (love)-law:  Joe L. Totten of Cleveland, OH, Roger and his wife, Gail Totten of Columbus, OH; Bessie Tanksley, Barbara Lewis, Loretta Osborne, Izetta Donley and Catherine McMillan all of Philadelphia, PA; her cousins and several generations of nephews and nieces; her devoted caregivers:  Dina Bryson, Cheryl Carrington, Victor Helm, Faye Hairston and Brenda Marshall; her neighbors, Church family and friends.  Mrs. Lue Anna Totten's Homegoing Celebration Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at Midway Shiloh Temple Church, 33034 Coal Heritage Road in Keystone, WV, with her Pastor, Walter E. Clay officiating and Elder John Hale, presiding.  Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM.  Her nephews and nieces will serve as both pallbearers and flower bearers.   Entombment 12:00 PM on Monday, December 11, 2023 at Restlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, 6605 New Hope Road in Bluewell, WV.  Services entrusted to Gregory-Page Funeral Home in Welch, WV.
