Marcus D. Edwards Sr.

Marcus Darcell Edwards Sr., age 33 of Welch, West Virginia who departed this life on Monday, September 20, 2021 in Havaco, West Virginia. Marcus was born January 21, 1988 in Welch and was the son of Linda Edwards of Welch and Jimmie Stephens Sr., of Northfork, West Virginia.  He was a 2006 graduate of Mount View High School and had worked for many years in the coal mines.  Marcus had a smile as bright as the sun and a heart of gold, always willing to help anyone in need.  He will be lovingly remembered for his infectious smile, his wonderful personality and the love he had for his kids, family and friends.  Marcus was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Charlie and Geraldine Edwards; two uncles, Ronald and Joseph Edwards and one cousin, Kevin Edwards.  Marcus leaves cherished, precious memories to his mother, Linda, his father, Jimmie Sr., and his five children:  Amaraus and Aireal Edwards both of Welch, Marcus Jr., Marionna and Markel Edwards all of Princeton, West Virginia; three brothers:  DeQuan and Tyrese Edwards both of the home and Jimmie Stephens Jr., of North Carolina and one sister, Lashawn Stephens of Northfork.  He leaves a circle of close aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends that are too numerous to name.  Marcus will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.   A Celebration of Life Service for Marcus D. Edwards Sr., will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, October 1, 2021 at Havaco Temple Missionary Baptist Church, 10347 Black Diamond Highway (Havaco) Welch, West Virginia with his cousin,  the Reverend Garnett Edwards Jr., eulogist and the Reverend Kenneth L. Orr presiding.  Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, 6605 New Hope Road in Bluewell, West Virginia.  His Family will serve as both pallbearers and flower bearers.  Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., until the time of Service.  Services entrusted to Gregory-Page Funeral Home in Welch, (to leave online condolences:  gregory-pagefh.com.)  Please be advised that COVID protocol will be followed and the wearing of masks.
