Minister Maurice Larnel "Speedy" Vincent age 54, of Kimball, West Virginia, peacefully departed this life, early on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 in the comforts of his home. He was born on the 1st day of October, 1969 in Welch, West Virginia and the only son of Georgia M. Vincent Smith of Kimball. Speedy, as he was affectionately known joined Emmanuel Tabernacle Church in Kimball, under the leadership of the late Bishop Elizabeth Jones. He had served as a Choir member, Deacon and a Minister. He was a graduate of Mount View High School in Welch and later completed culinary classes in Institute, West Virginia. He was employed at (the former) Hardees Restaurant in Welch as a cook. Speedy was known as a "people person," as he never met a stranger. His joy in life was to help others. He was a very good cook and he enjoyed gardening and was known to have a "green thumb" for growing both flowers and plants. He loved gospel music, singing and praising God. Maurice/Speedy was preceded in death by his stepfather, John Smith and his maternal grandparents, John and Carrie Vincent. Speedy will be remembered for his kind, genuine spirit and for the respect and the smile he gave to others. He will be greatly missed by his Mother, Pastor Georgia M. Smith, with whom he made his home, and his three sisters: Antionette Vincent-Parsons of Charlotte, North Carolina, Anissa Vincent and Carrie Smith both of the home; his aunts, Phyllis Paschal of Cleveland, Ohio and Mary Redd of Atlanta, Georgia; two nieces, Keneitha Parsons and Quintina Parsons both of Charlotte; his great-nephew, Antionne Clark and great-niece, Samya Clark both of Charlotte; his cousins, Church family and many friends. Minister Vincent's Homegoing Celebration Service will begin at 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Emmanuel Tabernacle Church, 50 Chestnut Street - Norwood Addition in Kimball, with Presiding Bishop Edward Mitchell eulogist, Reverend George Masterson and Minister Maurice Mitchell assisting and Dr. James Redd Jr., presiding. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM at the Church. Interment 11:00 AM on Monday, at Woodlawn Memorial Park 3410 Coal Heritage Road in Bluewell, West Virginia. Family and friends will serve as both pallbearers and flower bearers. Services entrusted to Gregory-Page Funeral Home in Welch.
