Michael Ray Edwards Sr., age 57 of Premier, West Virginia passed away, on Saturday, June 28, 2025 after a long battle of illness, surrounded by loved ones. Mike was a 1987 graduate of Mount View High School in Welch.  He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1988 to 1992, achieving the rank of Corporal. Known affectionately as “Mad Jack,” Mike had a  deep love for animals—especially his cherished Chihuahua, “Mr. Roper.”  He was a passionate, enthusiast of chicken fighting, often finding loyalty and joy within that community.  His love for his family was immeasurable.  As a  proud Uncle, he held a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews and was a source of wisdom, humor and support to each of them.

Mike was full of life, he loved sports cars and working out.  Mike was funny, comical and very entertaining.  His greatest  joy in life was spending time laughing, and joking around with his family, the Community and his friends/neighbors.  He was known for lifting the spirits of those around him.  He was definitely a fighter and a pillar of strength; offering unwavering encouragement and heartfelt advice to his children and grandchildren; which formed lasting memories and meaningful bonds with each of them,  Above all, Mike treasured his wife of 33 years, with whom he shared a deep, enduring love and partnership that grounded his life.

He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his passion, his strength, warmth and the fierce love he gave to everyone he held dear.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death (on June 10, 2025) by his daughter, My' Nequa Edwards; two of his brothers, Joseph and Ronald Edwards and two of  his nephews, Marcus and Kevin Edwards.  He leaves cherished memories to his wife, Kimberly Wade-Edwards, his children:  Michael (Brandi) Edwards Jr.,  of Premier, Marquise, My’Leyah, and Major Edwards all of the home and Lamont Edwards Sr., of Bluefield, West Virginia.  Mike had 10 grandchildren:  Michael III., “Mikey” and Myles Edwards, My’Aiara, MaKel and MaKih Mays, Lamont Jr., and LaVion Edwards and Malachi Johnson, My’Rhyi and Raheem Brim Jr.  Mike had four brothers:  Tyrone, Donald and Kenneth (wife, Margie deceased) Edwards all of North Carolina and Steven Edwards of Landgraff, West Virginia; his two sisters; whom he absolutely adored, Doris “DeeDee” Edwards-Banks of Havaco and Linda “Cookie” Edwards of Welch;  a special uncle, Garnet Edwards Sr., and one aunt, Betty Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at Greater Mt.
