Mrs. Charlene Suzette Minnis

Mrs. Charlene Suzette "Susie" Minnis 64 of Macon, GA, who departed this life on Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at the Medical Center, Navicent Health in Macon.  Charlene was born on March 27, 1956, at Stevens Clinic Hospital in Welch, WV.  She was the fourth child born to James "Buck" and Gracie (Cobbs) Nowlin of Kimball, WV.  Charlene resided in Kimball, most of her young adult life.  She graduated from Welch High School.  Charlene was a devoted wife and mother of two children.  Charlene also resided in Marietta, GA, Hopewell, VA and moved to Macon in December 2014.  Shortly after moving to Macon, Charlene became a loyal member and a Mother of Unity Missionary Baptist Church.  Charlene was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Charles "Skipper" Minnis Sr., her parents, James "Buck" and Gracie Nowlin, and one brother, Michael "Mike" Nowlin.  Charlene leaves many cherished memories to her two sons, Charles (Sabrina) Minnis Jr. of Acworth, GA and James (Frances) Minnis of Mechanicsville, VA;  her six siblings:  Frederick "Freddie" (Renita) Nowlin of Ft. Washington, MD; James "Jimmy" (Birgit) Nowlin of Petersburg, VA; Robert "Bobby" (Kathy) Nowlin of Jacksonville, NC; Betty (Dr. Larry) Stewart of Forsyth, GA; Ronald (Angela) Nowlin of Hopewell, VA and Donald "Punchy" Nowlin of Hampton, VA; four grandchildren:  Nathan, Ashlie, Shelby and Ethan; one uncle, James Harris "Uncle James" of Mentor-on-the-Lake, OH; one aunt, Ramona Cobbs "Aunt Boots" of Jacksonville, FL and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins; other relatives and her close friends include Pastor Edward and First Lady Helen Dawson and the Unity Missionary Baptist Church Family.  Service in loving memory of Charlene will be held at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Restlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery (grave site)  with the Reverend George Masterson officiating, where Interment will follow.  Family and friends will serve as both pallbearers and flower bearers.  A Revolving Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., at the Restlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, 6605 New Hope Road in Bluewell, WV.  Services entrusted to Gregory-Page Funeral Home in Welch, WV, (to leave online condolences:  gregory-pagefh.com.)  Social distancing and wearing of masks will be observed.
