Mrs. Eulalia Jean Headen Obituary

Mrs. Eulalia "Jean" Headen age 77, a long time resident of 14 Elm Street in Havaco, WV, who went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 19, 2021 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV.  She was born December 29, 1943 in Havaco and the daughter of the late Ethel and Walter Brown Sr.  After graduating from Kimball High School in 1961, Jean moved to New York and began working at M J Trucking in Mount Vernon and at Avon in Port Chester.  She and Jasper "Jerry" Headen were married on the 24th day of March, 1968 and in 1977 moved back to Havaco. She was baptized in New York and faithfully attended and served at Mount Zion Church of Christ in Havaco.  Jean loved the Lord.  She and her very dear friend and sister in Christ, Nadine Hazzard opened and operated "Let's Lift Up Jesus," in Welch, WV for many years.  Jean was employed by the Welch Postal Service and later at Welch Community Hospital.  She also had a catering service, candy store and with her helper, Sue Bell established Jean's Daycare.  Jean will be remembered for having a very kind heart that was always open to anyone that needed her.  In addition to her parents, Walter Jr. and Ethel, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Monica Headen-Golden;  two brothers, Jerome (Hazel) and Walter (Sarah)  Brown Jr., and one sister, Bonnie Brown.and her maternal grandparents, James Chesson and Willie Chesson Walls.  Jean leaves a lifetime of treasured memories to her husband, Jasper "Jerry," her children:  Jerry and Terry Headen Sr., DeShawn Headen Sr.,  Aaron Hood, Patrice (Angie) Taylor and Jehda Brown; grandchildren:  Monica, Terry Jr.  Taylor, and DeShawn Headen Jr., Tevon Brown, Bentley Ryan Kidd and Jackson Jeremiah Winfree; her siblings:  Buford (Wilma), Kenneth (Pernie), Darryl (Margaret), Harold (Dorothy) Brown, Carol (Carlvene) Neely, Sharron and Hazel Brown.  Special people:  Debra Belle, Tiana Bell and Alicia Brown, her nieces; Monica Headen, her granddaughter; Esther Herbin-Hewitt, Betty Wylie and Helen Devontenno; Caregivers:  Myron and Chris Brown, Dina Bryson, Pebbles Adams, the Welch Dialysis Family and McDowell Nursing & Rehabilitation in Gary, WV; Special Prayer Partners, Velda Johnson and Tina Williams; a host of nephews, nieces; neighbors and friends.  Mrs. Headen's Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Restlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, 6605 New Hope Road in Bluewell, WV, with the Reverend William Spencer, Overseer Anthony J. Bell and Elder Joseph Saunders officiating.  Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.  Pallbearers:  Amare, Chris and Steven Brown, Joe Diggs and DeShawn and Terry Headen.  A  Revolving Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m.  Services entrusted to Gregory-Page Funeral Home in Welch (to leave online condolences:  gregory-pagefh.com.)  Both social distancing and wearing of masks will be observed.
