Mrs. Gloria J. Robinson Woods age 71, of Bluefield, WV; formerly of Kimball, WV, who peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 in Hampton, VA, surrounded by her loving family. Gloria was born on the 16th day of July in 1949, in Eckman, WV. She was the daughter of the late Carl “Bright Lights” Robinson and Ardella Lipscomb-Robinson. Gloria grew up in Eckman, WV, and graduated from Northfork High School in 1967. She was employed as an LPN at Welch Community Hospital for 20 years before retiring. After her retirement, she continued to faithfully serve at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church in Thorpe, WV where she was a longtime member, alongside her husband as a Deaconess. She also served as a Sunday School Teacher as well as a Bible Bowl Coach. She resided in Kimball, WV for 39 years before moving to Bluefield, WV in December of 2010. She then became a member of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in Bluefield, VA. She loved to read (including listening to her audio books), travel, and she enjoyed baking and cooking with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, those preceding her in death include one sibling, (her sister) Anna Ruth “Ruthie” Robinson; her mother-in-law, Trannie Woods and her brother-in-law, Randolph “Randy” Woods. Gloria was the beloved wife of the late Grady Woods Jr., for 40 years. She was the mother of four sons of whom she was very proud: Ricardo J. (Angie) Woods Sr. of Dudley, NC,Grady D. (Karima) Woods Sr. of Bluefield, WV, Brady C. Woods of Bluefield, WV and the Evangelist Joseph E. (Prophetess Susan A. ) Woods Sr. of Hampton, VA; five special children: Kisha Ingram of Greensboro, NC, Joseph (Carolyn) Hayes of Greenville, SC, Shawn (Natasha Steward) Hale of Kimball, WV, and Catrice Robinson of Bluefield, WV; a devoted sister to Carol (Stanley Isabelle) Dunn of Kimball, WV, Carl (Lucy) Lipscomb of Texas, Larry “Doctor Rob” Robinson of Princeton, WV and Ronald (Cindy) Lipscomb of California. She was considered a true earth angel to her 18 grandchildren: Brandon, Jalen, Breyanna, Yorel, Jayda, Deiyantei, Ricardo Jr. “RJ”, Elijah, Amir, Dwight, Ireonna, Journey, Grady Jr., Trinity, Joseph Jr., Joshua, Brayanna and Maryett; great-grandchildren: Danica, Dominick, Chanin, Kendrick and Baby Boy Safford-Foster; special nieces and nephews: Keshia Dunn, Steven, Dunn, Ashley Isabelle, Randy Robinson, William "Drew" Nowlin, Debbie Willis, Tara Lee, Carl "Bam-Bam" Lipscomb, Larry "Lucky" Robinson, Jr., Cory Lipscomb and Drew Lipscomb two sisters-in-law Loretta Nowlin of Kimball, West Virginia and Elizabeth (Curtis) Stephens of Cleveland, OH; a host of other nephews and nieces, many cousins and other relatives; her Church Family and special friends, Phadonia Johnson, Carolyn Graves, Pamela Collins, and Rita Dameron, She will be remembered as a “Proverbs 31, Virtuous Woman” who fought the good fight of faith. Gloria's Family will celebrate her Homegoing Service at 11:30 a.m., on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Miracle Mt. Carmel Church of God in Kimball, WV, with her son, the Evangelist Joseph E. Woods Sr., eulogist and Pastors: David Cooper, Donald Gibson and William Spencer officiating. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens 6605 New Home Road in Bluewell, WV. A Revolving Visitation for the public will begin at 10:00 a.m., until 11:30 a.m., Services entrusted to Gregory-Page Funeral Home in Welch (to leave online condolences: gregory-pagefh.com.) Both social distancing and wearing of masks will be observed.
