Mrs. Helen G. Keith-Peterson

Mrs. Helen G. Keith-Peterson age 66 of Hyattsville, MD; formerly of Big Sandy, WV, who peacefully departed this life on Friday, September 25, 2020 at the Holy Cross Hospital & Medical Center in Silver Spring, MD, following a long illness.  Helen was born August 5, 1954 in Welch, WV and the daughter of the late Julia and Deacon Sherman Keith Sr.,  She was a 1972 graduate of Childersburg High School and completed her LPN training at Nunnelley State Technical College both in Childersburg, AL.  She was a member of Beulah Baptist in Big Sandy and had attended Tallasshatchie Baptist Church in Childersburg.  She enjoyed working in the medical field, and was last employed at Sava Senior Care in Silver Spring, MD as a Director of the Dementia Unit.  She enjoyed attending and singing in Church, traveling and was an avid Steelers' fan. Her parents, Sherman Sr. and Julia preceded her in death, also, her grandmother who helped raise her, Lillie Mae Garrett.  She leaves heartfelt memories to her husband of 43 years, Herbert P. Peterson and daughters, Latrease M. and Candice M. Peterson; her grandchildren, Nevaeh Sessions, Peyton Peterson, Chyanne and Matayah Henley all of Hyattsville; her siblings:  Rev. Richard (Betty) Davis and Arthur (Sherry) Keith both of Bluefield, WV, Deacon James (Minister Rhonda) Keith of Gary, WV, Kenneth (Mary) Keith  and Sherman (Gwen) Keith Jr., both of Winston-Salem, NC, Tyrone (Misty) Keith of Tennessee, Everlean (Elder Jerome) Tate of Princeton, WV, Rita (Rev. Stephen) Orey of Bramwell, WV, Teresa Pope of Wilcoe, WV, Ida (Douglas) Byers of Thorpe, WV, Connie Keith of Big Sandy, and Grace (Ronald) Brewer of Roanoke, VA; a host of nephews, nieces and cousins; her mother in law, Christina Hatcher; uncle, James Parker and aunts:  Kathy Murphy, Ernestine Patterson and special aunt, Nancy Garrett and her best friend and co worker, Ellosie Dunbar-Alexander.  A Celebration of Life  Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at First Baptist Church in Wilcoe, with Pastors:  David Cooper, Larry Hairston, eulogist and George Masterson officiating.  Entombment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 6605 New Hope Road in Bluewell, WV.  A revolving Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., until the time of Service.  Services entrusted to Gregory-Page Funeral Home in Welch, WV,  (to leave online condolences:  www.gregory-pagefh.com.) Wearing of masks and social distancing will be observed.
