Mrs. Mary W. Wade Obituary


Mrs. Mary Williams Wade age 93, who resided at 40352 Coal Heritage Road in Maybeury, WV was born on the 22nd day of April, 1927 in Lavaca, AL, and the daughter of Mr. John Wesley and Mrs. Mamie (Turner) Williams.  After moving to (McDowell County,) WV, she completed her education at Kimball High School.  At an early age, she met the love of her life, Howard Price Wade, and they were united in holy matrimony on October 30, 1943.  During her life’s journey, she had lived in Orange, NJ, where she was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church for 15 years.  She lived in Miami, FL for 23 years and later moved to Keystone, WV where she was a member of Mt. Chapel Baptist Church.   In 1988, she joined Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in Maybeury, where she faithfully served as Deaconess, an Usher, and Church Clerk Emeritus.  She was an Archousa  Alpha Upsilon Chapter Boule’ Sigma Pi Fi Fraternity.   She was a retired member of the National Dietary Managers' Association and Past President of the New Jersey Chapter.  Also, she received certification for Dietary Supervisor at the Middlesex County College in NJ, where she was a graduate with a certification in Dietary.    Mary enjoyed gardening, was an avid reader and a skilled seamstress.  She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mamie; two sons, Howard M. and John W. Wade and two sisters, Ora McClure and Ida M. Johnson.  On Sunday evening, February 28, 2021 Mary Williams Wade peacefully departed this life in the Bluefield ER of Princeton Community Hospital in Bluefield, WV, following a long illness.  She was the last surviving member of her original family. Mary will be lovingly remembered by her faithfully, devoted husband of 78 years Deacon Howard P. Wade of the home; their children:  Leon P. Wade of Maybeury, Antonetta M. Thomas of Irvington, NJ, Harnella (Richard) Walton of Richmond, VA and Michelle Wade of Miami Gardens, FL; five grandchildren:  Renae (Michael) Bryant, Vera Bailey, Crystal (Norman) Stevens, Tykeya Wade and Larry Nervell;  seven great-grandchildren:  Melissa, Shatia, Laraeya, Shahaid, Shadeija, Skylar and Serenity; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends; which includes a special long time friend, Roberta Smith of Northfork, WV.  Mrs. Wade's Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Restlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, 6605 New Hope Road in Bluewell, WV with (her granddaughter), Minister Dr. Renae Bryant eulogist and Pastors David Cooper and George Masterson officiating.  Her family and friends will serve as pallbearers.  Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon at the Chapel.  Services entrusted to Gregory-Page Funeral Home in Welch, WV (to leave online condolences:  gregory-pagefh.com.)  Both social distancing and wearing of masks will be observed.
