Mrs. Mattie L. Cunningham-Hill

Mrs. Mattie Lee Cunningham-Hill age 67, a resident of Premier, WV; formerly of Welch, WV, who departed this life on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, KY.  Mattie was born July 22, 1953 in Welch and the daughter of the late Nelson and Bertha M. "Bert" (Coates) Cunningham.  She was a 1971 graduate of Welch High School and in earlier years a member of (the former) Smith Memorial Church in Welch.  For the past three years, she was employed as a receptionist for the Council of Southern Mountains and was a former employee at the Count Gilu Motel both located in Welch.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one step-son, Michael.  Mattie will be remembered for her unselfish spirit and her love of both life and living. She leaves to mourn her passing, her devoted husband, James Hill and her children, Eugene Cunningham of  Lenoir, NC and Andrea Cunningham of Welch; four step-children:  Derrick Hill of CA, Pamela Lemonier, Lisa Hill and Regina Mangram all of Brooklyn, NY; her grandchildren:  Olivia L. Vaughn, Brandon Cunningham, Lamar Cunningham, De'shawn Headen, Elijah, Joseph and Justin Cunningham, Monica, Taylor and Terry Headen; great-grandchildren:  Kitana, Nevaeh, Dajwan, Rayven, Braiden, De'shawn Jr., IzzyBella, Kayden, Bentley and Jackson Jeremiah; a host of other relatives and friends.  Mattie's Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at Restlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, 6605 New Hope Road in Bluewell, WV, with the Reverend George Masterson officiating.  Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.  Her Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m.  Services entrusted to Gregory-Page Funeral Home in Welch, (to leave online condolences:  gregory-pagefh.com.)  Please be advised, COVID protocol is asked to be followed.
