Ms. Wendy Dalton Obituary

Ms. Wendy M. Dalton age 47, a life long resident of Thorpe, WV, who went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Welch Community Hospital.  She was born February 2, 1973 in Welch, WV and the daughter of Bishop Designate Izalliar Dalton of Thorpe and the late Charles Dalton Jr. Wendy grew up in McDowell County and attended public schools.  She was a 1991 graduate of Mount View High School in Welch.  She also graduated from the National College of Business and Technology in Bluefield, VA, where she was the recipient of the Mary P. McGurn Award in 1994, for her secretarial skills.  She received her Associate's Degree in Secretarial Science and her Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Administration from Bluefield State College. Wendy had held several positions during her years of employment which includes;  Family Advocate for the McDowell County Council of Southern Mountains in Wilcoe, WV,  Economic Service Worker for the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (WVDHHR) and for the past 11 years was employed  as an Accountant Technician at Welch Community Hospital both located in Welch.  Wendy joined the Miracle Mt. Carmel Holiness Church of God in Kimball, WV under the pastoral ship of the late General Bishop Arnie H. Joyce, where she was a member of the Praise Team and the Choir, served as both a drummer and tambourinist and was the Missionary Treasurer. She served in the missionary capacity by preparing and serving food.  Wendy videoed Church Services and had a ministry of encouragement through her CD  music distribution.  When unable to attend Church, Wendy joined the online Services of Dr. Jamal Harrison Bryant of  New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA.  Wendy was preceded in death by her father, Charles Dalton Jr., her maternal grandparents, Benjamin P. Brogdon Sr. and Nannie E. (Joyce) Brogdon and paternal grandparents, Charles Dalton Sr. and Bernice Dalton; her uncles:  John Moore, Oakley J. Dalton, Bobby Stewart, Tony H. Dalton, Overseer Benjamin P. Brogdon Jr., Elder Lewis Odell Brogdon Sr. and Charles E. Mitchell Sr. and a host of other relatives.  She leaves a life time of cherished memories to her beloved Mother and caregiver, Izalliar Dalton of the home; two siblings, Nia Monet Dalton and Quinton D. Dalton both of Detroit, MI; her aunts:  Carolyn Wilson, Lana Faye Dalton, Robin Ransaw, Elder Bonita G. Mitchell, Alfreda (James) Craighead; Mother Lottie Joyce, Mother Patricia Joyce and Minister Earleen Brogdon; special family support group includes her uncles, Ronald (Sister Priscilla) Dalton and Deacon Robert (Mother Helen) Brogdon;  also,:Deacon Weldon (Sister Shirley "Teresa") Thomas, Evangelist Monica Craighead and  Evangelist Doris Young; Phillip Brogdon and the Robert Gilliam and the Ervin Joyce families and a great host of cousins, other family members and friends.  Wendy's Homegoing and Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, November 20, 2020 at Miracle Mt. Carmel Church of God in Kimball, with the Elder Bonita Brogdon-Mitchell officiating.  Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, 6605 New Hope Road, Bluewell, WV.  Wendy's cousins will serve as both pallbearers and flower bearers.  A Revolving Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., until the time of Service.  Services entrusted to Gregory-Page Funeral Home in Welch (to leave online condolences:  www.gregory-pagefh.com.) Social distancing and wear of masks will be observed.
