Mrs. Ophelia M. Cuthbertson-Shuford age 74, of Bluefield, WV; formerly of Pageton, WV, who departed this life early on Friday, August 20, 2021 at the Mercer Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Bluefield, WV, where she had resided for the past nine months. She was born July 15, 1947 in Pageton, WV and the daughter of Mose B. and Jo I. (Hardy) Cuthbertson. After completing her education, she joined the work force and was last employed as a presser at a dry cleaning service. In addition to her parents, Mose and Ila. she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Shuford; four brothers: Douglas, Moses, William and Charles Cuthbertson and two sisters, Naomi Scrivens and Flora Broaddus. She is survived by her devoted brother, Leon Cuthbertson of Bluefield and sisters, Beverly Briggs of Blluefield, her caregiver and with whom she made her home Cynthia Moore of Pageton, WV, Kathryn Dabney of Cleveland, OH and Barbara Patton of Bluefield, WV; several generations of nephews, nieces and cousins. A Memorial Service is being planned.
