Orval L. Patterson

Early on Monday, September 13, 2021 Orval Lee Patterson age 63, a life long resident of Big Sandy, WV, departed this life at the Bland County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Bastian, VA, following a lengthy illness. Orval was born August 19, 1958 in Welch, WV and the son of Clifford and Inez (Webster)  Patterson.  Orval was a graduate of Welch High School and was of the Baptist Faith.  Orval was last employed as an automotive detailer.  He enjoyed repairing vehicles, listening to "old school" music and watching  television; especially Westerns.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Rufus and his only sister, Patricia Patterson.  Orval will be greatly missed by his brothers:  Clifford S., Marvin L., Preston R. and Charles N. Patterson; one uncle, Edward Webster of North Wilkesboro, NC and three aunts:  Doris (Joseph) Puryear of Long Island, NY, Julie Webster of North Wilkesboro and Ernestine Patterson of Philadelphia, PA; a host of cousins, neighbors and friends.
