Obituary

Randy Scott Thacker resided in Corpus Christi, TX; formerly of Chapmanville, WV departed this life on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 in Corpus Christi. Scottie as he was known to his family and friends was born April 7, 1984 in Williamson, WV into the loving parentage of Elizabeth White Hicks of Chapmanville and the late Randy Gene Thacker.  After graduating from Chapmanville High School, he began working in the coal mines.  Approximately four years ago, he moved to Corpus Christi where he was employed as a Carpenter, being skilled in both home repairs and home building.  Scottie was of the Baptist Faith.  He will be remembered for his loving, kind heart and the love he held dearly for his children and family.  He enjoyed listening to music, bowling and shooting pool, and was both an avid swimmer and Dallas Cowboys' fan.  Scottie leaves a life time of cherished memories to his mother, Elizabeth and her husband, CJ; his wife, Amanda M. Johnson Thacker of Kent. OH; his children, Randy and Lillie Thacker of Chapmanville; his siblings:  Creggory Thacker of Pinsonfork, KY, Brandi (Jason) Mullins of McAndrews, KY, Courtney Thacker of Statesville, NC, Blake Hicks of Mexico City and Paige Hicks of Chapmanville;  his nine nephews and nieces; his uncles and aunts; which includes a special uncle, Bruce and his wife, Lisa White  who took Scottie under his wing, teaching him about life and work ethics.  A host of cousins, other relatives and friends, which includes; his special family for life, Donna and Blake Hunt and Cheri Horton. A Celebration of Life Service will be held  at 7:00 PM on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Garrett Chapel 780 Garrett Fork Road in Chapmanville with Pastor Joey Kennedy officiating.  Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM, until the time of Service at the Church.
