Samuel L "Sammy" King a resident of Bluefield, WV and formerly of the Keystone-Northfork areas, who departed this life on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at his residence. He was born May 24, 1959 in Welch and a son of the late Robert King Sr. and Mary Jordan King. In earlier years, he joined First Baptist Church in Northfork. After completing his education at MVHS, he had held several positions in the workforce. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Jeffery, Robert Jr. and Timothy; one great-granddaughter, Avion; nephews, Aquindae and Jerome and one niece, Lanikki. Sammy is survived by three daughters: Sheron and Tara Younger and Debra (Kenyada) Foddrell all of Northfork; 11 grandchildren: Da'Zhana, Brayanna, Sirr, Juelez, Jamezz, Jenesia, Jysaiah, Tyler, Ty'noisha, Ty'Kirra and Ty'Zhaun; two great-grandchildren, XXavier and Journee his siblings: James (Deborah) King of Cleveland, OH, Raymond (Marie) King, and Charles (Belle) King both of Detroit, MI and Charles Jordan of Washington, DC, Rena (Willie) Rogers of Detroit, Benita King and Penny Vernon both of Madison, NC, Karen (Elder Ronald) Witcher of Bluefield, Olympia (Alfred) Braggs of Northfork, Thomasina Johnson and Lilly King both of Detroit; two aunts, Gertrude Jordan and Gloria Jordan; a host of nephews and nieces; many cousins and other relatives. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
