Spencer Lee (Skip) Griffin of Williamson West Virginia went home to be with the Lord on February 4, 2017 in Pikeville Kentucky. He was born on April 18, 1957 in Clarksburg, West Virginia to Mary Francis Griffin Harris and the late Joseph (Bully) Griffin.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Edward Bankhead; and two Sisters, Gloria (Kitty) Coleman and Josephine Griffin Goza.
Skip served his country in the United States Air Force. He was employed by N&W Railroad as a conductor, worked in construction, was an employee with the City of Williamson, and did landscaping work until his retirement in 2010. Skip was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and a graduate of Clarksburg High School. Skip had a heart full of love and compassion for everyone and was known to be the go-to guy for people needing help. Skip will be sadly missed by all that knew him.
Skip is survived by his wife of forty years, Linda Belcher Griffin and from that union are three daughters, Thomasina Griffin, Africia Griffin and Amelia Griffin all of Charleston, West Virginia; five brothers, Derek Sharp and Joseph Griffin of Huntington, West Virginia; Lawrence Griffin, Troy Griffin and James E. Griffin of Clarksburg, West Virginia; four sisters, Lynn Griffin Wilkinson of Hawaii; Mary Griffin Shaikh of Huntington, West Virginia; Roberta Griffin Taylor of Newport News, Virginia and Martha Griffin of Chesterfield, Virginia; eleven grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.
Services will be Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Pentecostal Tabernacle United Holy Church located on Mulberry Street in Williamson, West Virginia. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Elder Ricky Wilkerson will officiate. Burial will take place on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery located at 130 Academy Drive in Dunbar, West Virginia. Arrangements are entrusted to Gregory-Page Funeral Home.
