Weldon F. "Bucky" Holliday Jr.

Weldon F. "Bucky" Holliday, age 43, who resided at 1237 Eldridge Street in Bluefield, WV, was born May 28, 1976.  He was the son of Brenda J. Evans Holliday of Welch, and the late Reverend Weldon F. Holliday Sr.  He was a 1994 graduate of Mount View High School, had attended Bluefield State College and graduated from Valley College in Princeton, WV.  He was a member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Welch.  During his time of employment, he was a customer service representative at Turner-Vision in Bluewell, WV, area supervisor for Papa John's Pizza and a CNA at Glenwood Park Nursing Center both in Princeton, WV.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by both his maternal and paternal grandparents; special cousin, raised as his sister, Taneka Stallworth Lockett; his uncles:  Jasper Evans, Andrew, Anthony, Billy and Paul Holliday.  On Monday, October 21, 2019 Bucky was called from labor to reward in the comforts of his home on Eldridge Street in Bluefield, following an extended illness.  Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Brenda; his son, Mendoza A.D. Holliday of the home; his only brother, Damien D. (Jobina) Holliday Sr. of Bluefield, WV; the mother of his son, Selena Jenks and former wife; special uncles:  Joseph (Kathy) Evans of Chesapeake, VA, James (Mary) Holliday of Bethlehem, PA and Demetrius (Minister Karen) Holliday of Gary, WV; he was the very special uncle of DJ., Grayson and Mason Holliday; god parents of his son, James and Angel Webster of Myrtle Beach, SC; special friend, Darryl Rutledge of Kyle, WV; several generations of cousins and his friends for life:  Chris Miller,and Seward Bush Jr. both of Bluefield and William Fedele' of Cincinnati, OH. .  A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Welch, with the Reverend George Masterson officiating.  Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m., until the time of Service at the Church. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to either the American Diabetes or American Heart Associations.
